About Bradford Counselling Service

Professional Profile

Naomi Hoffenberg is the owner and primary clinician of Bradford Counselling Service. She is a social worker and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. The evolution of Naomi’s career in social work began at age 14, when she lost her father to cancer. The lack of formal supports in the community prompted Naomi to dedicate her life to assisting others in their time of need, and helping them recognize that they are not alone.

Credentials and Education

Naomi obtained her bachelor’s degree in social work from Ryerson University in 2002, and a Master of social work from University of Windsor’s MSW for working professionals program in 2011. In 2010, Naomi interned with a hospice organization and received training and experience in bereavement counselling and group facilitation. In 2013, Naomi completed a year-long certification program in brief and narrative therapy with families, couples and individuals at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre - Gail Appel Institute in Toronto.

Naomi’s work experience includes:

-counselling individuals, couples, and families at a community-based counselling organization;
-case management, crisis counselling and advocating on behalf of clients in the field of child welfare;
-frontline work in homeless shelters; and
-providing counselling, facilitating support groups, and giving educational presentations at an organization for people with epilepsy and their loved ones.

In her spare time, Naomi delivers educational lectures to volunteer hospice trainees.
